Avast official site web shield continuously checks the information that you transfer when you browse the net and blocks any possible infections in real-time. This shields you from ransomware which locks your files and requires a payment to unlock them. It also protects you from Trojans that claim to be legitimate software, but infect your device with malware. Web shield also identifies phishing websites that attempt to steal private information.
Avira offers multiple options to alter the way avast Web shield performs. For instance, you can change the sensitivity level, which regulates the degree to which avast web shield checks the data when you connect to the internet. You can also enable and disable HTTPS scanning as well as script scanning and block botnets. You can also create an exclusion list in order to avoid certain programs from being detected by web shield.
If avast finds malware or potentially unwanted programs on your system, avast will try to repair the file first. If the file is unable to be repaired it will be moved to Quarantine. You will also receive a notification. You can also choose a default action for avast to take when it detects a virus.
If a website or an app that you know to be secure is blocked by avast, you can add it to the list of exceptions to ensure it never gets blocked again. This can be done by selecting the Real-Time Shields tab and then selecting the Web Shield or File Shield item in the list. The process for adding a site or app to the list of exceptions is different for Avast Security and Avast One apps.
